Neck Rejuvenation and Hyperdiluted Radiesse in Portland
The neck can show signs of aging earlier than other areas. Horizontal neck lines, crepey skin, laxity and prominent platysmal bands may become noticeable even when the face still appears youthful.
At my NE Portland aesthetic practice, I offer several nonsurgical neck-rejuvenation treatments. The best approach depends on your anatomy, skin quality, degree of laxity and individual goals.
Botox for Platysmal Bands and the Nefertiti Neck Lift
Botox can relax prominent platysmal bands—the vertical muscle bands that become more visible when speaking, smiling or tensing the neck. The Nefertiti neck lift technique uses precisely placed neuromodulator injections along the platysma and lower jawline.
This treatment may:
Soften visible vertical neck bands
Reduce downward pull along the jawline
Improve the appearance of the jawline and lower face
Soften dynamic neck lines caused by muscle movement
Botox does not tighten loose skin or replace lost volume, so it is frequently combined with treatments that address skin quality and collagen production.
Hyperdiluted Radiesse for Crepey Neck Skin
Hyperdiluted Radiesse is one of my preferred treatments for crepey neck skin, mild laxity and declining firmness.
When Radiesse is diluted for use as a biostimulatory treatment, it is distributed beneath the skin without the goal of creating substantial volume. Its calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres stimulate the body’s production of collagen and elastin, producing gradual improvements in skin quality.
Hyperdiluted Radiesse neck treatments may help:
Improve skin firmness and elasticity
Reduce the appearance of crepey skin
Improve overall neck texture
Support gradual collagen and elastin production
Results develop progressively as new collagen forms. A series of two treatments approximately six weeks apart may be recommended, followed by periodic maintenance based on your response and goals.
Skinvive for Neck Hydration and Fine Lines
Skinvive is a hyaluronic acid filler treatment designed to improve skin hydration and smoothness without adding traditional filler-like volume.
When appropriately selected for neck rejuvenation, Skinvive may help soften fine horizontal lines and improve the appearance of dry or finely creased skin. Its primary benefit is hydration and surface smoothness rather than skin tightening.
Microneedling for Neck Texture and Collagen Support
Microneedling creates controlled microchannels that initiate the skin’s natural repair response. Over a series of treatments, microneedling may improve:
Fine horizontal neck lines
Uneven or crepey texture
Mild photodamage
Collagen production
Overall skin quality
Microneedling improves the skin itself but does not relax prominent platysmal bands. When both concerns are present, it may be combined with Botox or a biostimulatory treatment.
Combining Treatments for Comprehensive Neck Rejuvenation
Neck aging often involves several different structures, including the skin, collagen, subcutaneous tissue and platysma muscle. For this reason, the most natural-looking results often come from combining treatments that address different concerns.
For example, Botox may soften muscular bands, hyperdiluted Radiesse may improve firmness and crepey skin, and microneedling or Skinvive may target texture, hydration and fine lines.
