Best Filler in Portland OR

Last week, I attended an Allergen-sponsored training focusing on Juvederm’s newest product, Volux. As you know, education and training is a true joy of mine, but there was an interesting moment in this training that got me thinking. The instructor turned to me and said, “Heather, you don’t need any more training, you have the knowledge, you just need to keep practicing.”

To be honest, I felt a bit embarrassed, but I also felt validated and inspired. The investment I have put into education was acknowledged by someone I respect. I am now four years into an aesthetics-focused practice, and it was a thrilling and satisfying experience to notice how my rich foundation of knowledge, practice, and technique orient me to more easily soak up new information and to participate in group learning with the occasional nugget to offer.

I continue to learn so much. At this recent training, we discussed strategic placement of filler. We returned to the common complaint of tissue laxity around the mouth (ie jowling) and general volume loss. By considering the relationship of the center of the face with the periphery, we were able to focus on how adding filler to one area can create an overall appearance of lifting and tightening. We emphasized placement of filler to support the ligaments near the cheekbones. We emphasized jawline treatment to tighten the lower face, and then considered adding volume in the preauricular area as a way to create the appearance of a lift. The results are both profound and natural.

In my pursuit of lip excellence, I have been exploring various products, and this training helped to reinforce my confidence in Juvederm. We were given a refresh on placement, injection technique, and profile consideration when working with the lips. Our model was so happy with her results, and we discussed this work through the lens of avoiding the later dissolving of the product.

Results sometimes requires multiple syringes. Five syringes is only one teaspoon of medicine, which highlights just how subtle fewer syringes can be. As I’ve been making my way in this career and building skills and confidence, I have tended to be more on the conservative side, opting for fewer syringes rather than too many. I am taking notice, however, that as I grow into my full confidence of working with these medicines (ie fillers), I am better able to prescribe doses that give impactful results, and know that I can deliver this safely. Pictured is before and immediately after 5 syringes of filler using these reinforced skills.

Nothing is as influential when it comes to skill development in healthcare as seeing clients. I can take training after training, but the time with clients for practical application makes a world of difference when it comes to cementing the knowledge. Entering this week right out of the training, I feel so capable, confident, and excited to deliver all that I had learned. From this place of fullness, I would like to extend gratitude to all my teachers and clients.

With love,
Heather
