The Fern Technique

I recently traveled to Amsterdam to learn The Fern Technique from its developer Dr. Tom Van Eijk. This technique uses hyaluronic acid dermal filler (Restylane) to address lines, wrinkles, and folds that occur from skin weakness. As we mature, our skin weakens from damage caused by the sun, sleep, and habitual movements. When filler is placed superficially in the skin in a fern pattern, we strengthen the weakened skin and soften associated lines and wrinkles.

Reflect and Root

This past weekend I took the time to reflect on my aesthetic journey over the past few years. As an exercise to update some profiles, I listed out all the training I have done as an injector. This January marks the completion of three years in practice focusing on aesthetic injectables and I feel pride, accomplishment, and excitement around my work and commitment ahead. Age Related Facial Changes

With aging, we start getting lines between the eyes and forehead, mouth lines become more pronounced, under eye area sinks and darkens,, etc. These changes occur because of seismic moves of the bone, muscle, and fat beneath the skin (2).
